Sav Day 6
10/6/20
A busy day for me meant I needed a little afternoon pick me up. Coffee is always the go to. Trust me when I tell you, no one wants a decaffeinated Dom. The local business I went to today was Savannah Coffee Roasters. To be honest with you, I am no stranger to this place. I have been here a handful of times from the first time Leo lived in Savannah. I love it here, I have never had a bad cup of coffee and their food (specifically their baked goods) never disappoint. Savannah Coffee Roasters has been roasting coffee for over 100 years, and it shows.
One of the things that is so cool about it here is that it is so big, Not only do they have 5+ tables outside but triple that inside, and that is with things socially distanced. I was even able to bring my laptop and start blogging. SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) students are in there all the time doing some work. Maybe people thought I was a college student, I still look 18 right? One can dream?
They have two cases full of goodies and a small menu to order food as well. Also, today I noticed they have the sweetest little dog treats, looked exactly like freezer waffles. So naturally my Kaley needed one! They even have a wall full of their coffee that you can buy, as well as some t-shirts, honey, tea, mugs, tumblers, and so on.
I ordered an iced latte for myself and a cranberry white chocolate chip scone. I am normally a big black coffee drinker, but my coffee treat of choice is a non flavored iced latte with oat milk and light ice, how bougie does that sound? I know, but it’s good so I can’t help it. And like I said earlier, you can really tell they have been roasting coffee for over 100 years, always smooth and flavorful.
Bonus points for me, I saved half the scone for Leo because it was so good I wanted him to try it. While I am normally not a white chocolate fan, the scone itself wasn’t that sweet (which I like), so it added the perfect bite of sweetness.
I cannot say enough good things about this place! Look.I know America runs on some specific coffee chains, but next time you go to spend $5 I really invite you to try a place that isn’t serving you a burnt cup of coffee, maybe head to place that puts extra time into crafting you something. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Thank you for reading, as always you rock.
