Sav Day 7
October 7th, 7 businesses in! I literally feel like I am just scratching the surface of what Savannah has to offer. I am striving to really find a variety of businesses, get a little out of my comfort zone, and try some new things during this month.
As I was headed home I passed this place out of the corner of my eye, parked around the corner, and popped in. Right near Monterey Square is this shop, Custard Boutique.
A snapshot of Monterey Square
Savannah has 22 park squares that I highly recommend you take a minute and check them out here. My cell phone photos do not do them justice.
Something really sweet about Custard Boutique was that the woman that runs the shop, Addison, has a commitment to local vendors and artisans. The products there ranged from cases of jewelry, racks of clothings, pottery, and accessories. Imagine more businesses took this approach? A small business supporting other small businesses and entrepreneurs. Maybe I am a little bit of a dreamer in that aspect, but being able to put money into you local community to help it thrive sounds like a win win.
While talking to Addison, she said her and her husband made the pottery in the store right now the street. Leo has taken a real liking to one of my hand made coffee mugs, so I decided to get him his own from here.
See the teal ones on the left? One of those now belongs to us!
Thanks for reading, “see you tomorrow”.
