Sav Day 2
October 2nd
So today was all about the fitness, which most of my days normally are. If you are reading this, chances are you know I teach what I call movement classes for a living. Mindful strengthening and interval training is what I like to call my style. I started my morning at 6:30 am teaching a virtual half hour express Cardio & Core class, At 9:15am I taught another virtual Buns & Guns class, which is specifically focused on glutes and arms, pretty fun. If you have not yet, and have an interest in taking some of my online classes. head to my Live Virtual Class Schedule & Access Links (email me saying you read the blog and I will even get you a discount). After teaching I had just enough time to do a tiny bit of unpacking (my closet organization is quite the process), eat, and then I was off to Pure Barre Savannah for a little mid day class (you will hear more about this awesome place soon). Post barre class shakes, Then it was time to hydrate and then my final class of the day was Cyclebar in midtown Savannah.
Cyclebar is a franchise, but locally owned. Just as important as supporting local businesses is supporting local people. I know a couple of the teachers and wanted to acknowledge my friends and their classes. The fitness industry has really changed during the Pandemic, and supporting your local fitness instructors has taken on deeper meaning to me.
This was my first cycle bar class and it ROCKED. When they say “rock your ride” they aren’t kidding. The playlist was so motivating, which is needed considering it was my fourth workout of the day. My friend, and lululemon rockstar, Jenny taught and it is so cool to be able to take class with an instructor you know. I love being a student, its what drove me to be a teacher, and will forever take class as long as my body allows. This 45 minute class warmed you up (literally sweating within the first three minutes), pushed you to what I like to call your razor’s edge, moved to the beat (love a rhythm ride), worked out arms with small barbells rather than dumbbells (which I loved for a spin class), and then cooled us down. Killer workout and even more important, it was enjoyable. You might have heard me talk about how the human body is meant to be in motion. I totally understand not every type of workout will resonate with you, but I invite you to try new things until one sticks. Find what motivates you to move, “aspire to perspire” if you will, and maybe even support those local teachers (digitally or in person).
Days like this, meaning a lot of working out, remind me how blessed I am I have a body that carries me through. Your movement, your workout, is not a punishment, but truly a celebration of the body’s strength. So get out there and sweat y’all!
